Loudoun’s Anthrax Building

by DullesHomeGuy on February 20, 2010

One of the more notorious of Loudoun’s real estate inventory is an industrial building which received 2001 anthrax mailings sent to Congress.

NYT reports the case is now closed with the finger on a Frederick MD man.:

Only after path-breaking genetic analysis led to his lab did investigators consider that their genial scientific adviser might actually be their quarry.

The accused passed in 2008 and worked at the National BioTerrorism Center in Frederick, about 30 minutes north of Leesburg VA.

…the Postal Service spent hundreds of millions of dollars to clean up mail-processing centers.

The building was sealed up–nothing much to see, a warehouse–for what was it, a couple hundred years?

Loudoun might think twice about approving residential units near the site which is near the Dulles North transit center.
